Delivery Condition
The heat treatment state material arrives in — annealed, solution treated, aged, or quenched and tempered.
Inconel 718 supplied solution treated machines at a fraction of the cost of the same bar fully aged, but must then be aged after rough machining under controlled pyrometry. 15-5PH in condition A machines freely and is aged to H900 afterwards. Stating the condition, not just the grade, is the difference between a job that runs and a job that stalls at the first cut.
